Post Work Trail Run

On my way home from work I pulled in at a layby to the East of Marazion, quickly changed out of my suit into my running kit and set off on a 45 minute trail run through fields and down to the coast path. Witnin the first 1/4 mile I was met with the fantastic site of the sun just disappearing behind Carn Du headland across Mounts Bay with St. Michaels Mount standing proudly in the foreground.
Across Mounts Bay
Apart from the wetness underfoot there was little evidence at this point of the recent storms that have been battering the Cornish Coastline. Following the footpaths that cut through and around the edge of fields I soon arrived at the top of Perranuthnoe Village, close to the Church, standing proudly in the dimming light before following a bridleway that cut down to Boats Cove on the coast path. I tuned towards The Lizard and followed the path around Perranuthnoe Beach and through some boggy path before returning and retracing my steps, stopping off to take a picture towards the Mount again

The lights of Penzance and Newlyn behind St. Michaels Mount
The lights of Newlyn and Penzance flickering away over the sea were clearly in evidence as I turned up and away from Boats Cove arriving back at the car in the failing light. A quick change out of my Inov8 shoes, a drink of my training fuel and a banana and I was on my way again back home. A refreshing easy run that assisted with clearing my head.
